I’m the Lead Product Designer at Radius Agent; a platform designed to help Real Estate agents succeed in a modern world. I’m responsible for the full design process for mobile (iOS + Android) and web.
Background: When I first joined Radius our flagship SaaS product, Radius Assist (real estate lead qualification program), was relatively new and was facing a high churn rate. Agents felt like the workflow was confusing, our process was not transparent, and that our product didn’t communicate effectively. However, Radius’ main product was actually the community feed which is a free to use platform that allows agents to connect and share referrals amongst each other. Building an engaging community is and has always been the core vision for Radius- yet with about 60,000+ agents on our platform we were only seeing 2-3 posts/interactions per day.
Here are some of my highlights and accomplishments:
Completely restructured the mobile app architecture by separating the tabs to be distinct and action based. Ex: the previous version had elements of every product in every tab which impacted the overall usability. Session rates were high not because the user was engaged, but because they were confused.
I made transparency a top priority- the impact was massive. For some context, real estate agents are very nervous about sharing their leads with a third party. If they had the time to call every lead themselves they would. There is substantial resistance for letting someone else represent them and their brand. Understanding their hesitation, I needed the product to make them feel comfortable and I did this by substantially increasing the communication of our outreach to our users. Specifically, I built a lead timeline which displays every text message, phone call, and email with the lead and created an overview dashboard for our users to quickly absorb the key takeaways while also allowing for the flexibility of a deeper analysis through utilizing our robust filtering system.
The architecture redesign, increased transparency, and a few other new product feature significantly reduced our user churn rate by about 70%!
Helped increase revenue of Radius Assist, by over 30% month over month by designing helpful empty states, creating a series of ad triggers, and building out brand new features to compete with the best in the industry.
Launched Radius Marketplace: a referral marketplace that matches homebuyers and sellers with the best agents in their area.
Increased daily, weekly, and monthly active users by about 300% year over year.
Launched Radius Agent Realty: a virtual brokerage subscription.
Launched Radius Academy: an online training program with courses to help agents of all experience levels.
Launched Radius Events: industry-focused webinars that connect agents during COVID.
Completely restructured our website to allow users to view all of our products more easily, share content in the community, and find agents more effectively.
Increased engagement in our community to 100’s of interactions per day.
Designed (not yet implemented) trending topics, hashtags, agent scorecards, and much more.
